Oh Christmas Ornament?

One of these day I will figure out how to get text in my blog before the pictures! Anyway my friend Beth came home from a hobby store with these blank ornaments. She gave me one to try stamping on. Oh, they are fabulous and easy! The Dasher ornament is stamped and sponged in marina mist. Then I misted it with silver foil Smooch spritz. To keep everything in place I sprayed it with a clear acrylic sealer. I cut the silver ribbon off and added my own marina mist ribbon.

I love the cardinal image in A Cardinal Christmas, but I hate coloring! This was fairly easy though as the stamp does all the shading for you. I stamped in black Staz-On, but I bet basic black would've worked. The berries are riding hood red, cardinal is real red, branches soft suede or crumb cake, leaves are wild wasabi accented with garden green, beak and feet are blush blossom and around the eye was a little pumpkin pie. He was sealed and topped off with real red ribbon. I stamped the Merry Christmas sentiment from the same set on the back.

Why does the ornament need to stay white? I sponged classic night of navy over the entire ornament. Then using frost white shimmer paint I stamped the images from Welcome Christmas. Front is above and the back is below. Sealed it and tied it off with night of navy ribbon. I am thinking about doing a class with these. - Heidi

Yee-Haw

I am excited! In two weeks I am having a rummage sale and clearing out all of the old to make way for the new! If you are in Wisconsin stop on by! Haha.

This is a sneak peek of one of the cards we will be making at my first class. I really wanted the saying "happy birthday to" and then I could stamp the horseshoe for a U. The saying is in crazy for cupcakes, but I don't have that set - darn it! My first class will be at the end of August. I have waited a long time for this and I want to make this a go! - Heidi

I'm Baaaaack!

Ugh! It has been too long since I have stamped. I am very nearly done getting my stamp area in the basement set up. I have way TOO much stuff and am going to have a BIG rummage sale! I need to support buying new stamping stuff.

It is my father's birthday and he loves buffaloes. I made him this card for his 70th birthday. The DSP is woodland walk from Stampin' Up and the set is In Wilderness. The ribbon is old wild wasabi, but it looks great. I used my wild wasabi marker to color in the grass - YIPEE! - Heidi

I am going through withdrawal!

We are moving to a house! It has a basement and maybe I can have classes there! In a non-brilliant move I took my stamping stuff over there last week. We aren't moving until next weekend. I want to make something, but my stuff is in a shambles at the house - ARGGHHHH! I need to concentrate on school anyway. The new catty is keeping me busy as I dream of stuff to buy! - Heidi

MOJO 142 - losing a pet

I have been on a simple kick lately. There is nothing wrong with simple it's just that I usually like to load my cards with more, more, and more. I have misplaced my mojo lately. This card has helped me to regain a bit of it. The sentiment is from Nothwoods Rubber Stamps. The cat is from PaperSource and the little paw is from C is for Cat from Stampin' Up. The colors are naturals ivory, dusty durango and soft suede cardstock. The paper is from Flair Designs.

A few cards

I have been busy, but I did make a few cards. The card above uses a scallop card die from Sizzix and an old simply scrappin' kit from Stampin' Up. I haven't been using this die because it is NOT an A2 card size. It is almost an A6 card size so I can make A6 envelopes to fit them. Now that I have a way to make envelopes I will be making a lot more of these!

These two cards use the new set from Stampin' Up called Bouquet Bunch. I wasn't sure why I bought this set, but after seeing a few cards made with this set - I love it! Isn't that always how it is?!! The below card uses dusty durango, old olive and tempting turquoise. This is a great color combination. Inspired butterfly paper

This card uses the die and stamp set from Papertrey Ink.

I saw this butterfly paper at Hobby Lobby. It had so many colors that I just had to buy one sheet and see what I could do. I made seven cards from one 12 X 12 sheet of paper. The colors matched Bermuda bay, soft suede, apricot appeal, green galore and pink passion. I tried to come up with different and simple layouts. Hope you enjoy. - Heidi
