Something for everyone

Finals are next week so I will put something up before I hibernate.  The above card is made with book stickers that I found on clearance at Target.  There were four in a pack for $0.50 - what a deal.  It is mounted on Calypso Coral using romantic rectangle.  The card base is basic grey.  The tag is Spellbinders and the sentiment is from Stampin Up.  If there were four total that means I need to come up with three more Twilight cards so stay tuned!

Below is a mistake I made using the stencil from Stampin Up that I believe is no longer available.  It schmeared and was just awful, but I turned it around and made this card.  the banner is from Spellbinder.

Below is a card I made for Ralph who took time out of his day to come and help me put a fan in the bathroom ceiling.  What a mess!  He runs his own business and Ernesto carves with him when he can.  I had to say thank you the best way I know how - with a special and one-of-a-kind thank you card!  I just love Totally Tools and I'll never get rid of it!  Not particularly fond of the sayings in the set, but I love the tools! - Heidi

Aviary Shadow Box

What is a gal to do when she is burned out on school and ready to be done with the semester? Why visit Archiver's, of course! I found this lovely paper from the Conservatory collection called Aviary. It was so neato that I had to buy two sheets of it. When I got home I realized what I wanted to do with it. I made a shadow box with the paper. I cut two layers (the bird body and the wings) and Stampin' Dimensionaled them onto the first sheet. But Heidi, you say, I thought you only bought two sheets?! That's right I had to make another trip to Archiver's to get another sheet so I could finish my shadow box.

Cutting all those layers out just wasn't time consuming enough for me apparently because my box was still missing something. Of course, it needs a nest with eggs in it! A trip to Michael's took care of that. The nest was too big to fit in the shadow box so I had to cut it in half. It is tucked into the bottom left hand corner of the box. - Heidi

Baby favor idea

I went to Regionals in Milwaukee, WI last month. When I saw the Petite Purse Bigz L Die from Stampin' Up I was instantly struck with an idea. This would be awesome as a diaper bag to use as a baby shower favor. You could put whatever you wanted to inside and set them out on the tables. You could even do names for assigned seat, etc, etc.

The above picture is a general overview picture. My diaper bag, when I had babies, had pockets on the ends that we kept diapers and bottles in. I just modified the ends of the die by adding flaps and cut some slices in the seams of the purse. then I tucked the flaps in to make pockets on the ends. Wasn't too difficult. I told people at Regionals my idea and I was hoping that no one would borrow my idea before I had a chance to put it together.

The first picture shows the diaper end and pocket. I just cut and folded a little bit of tissue. Then I attached thin strips of DSP to look like the bands that go around most diapers. Then I tucked them into the pocket.

The second picture shows the bottle end and pocket. I was able to find the bottles at Hobby Lobby. They are the perfect size and come in several colors.

The third picture shows the padded shoulder strap just like my diaper bag used to have. Yes, I am anal enough to have added a shoulder strap pad onto this favor.

Butterflies for Letty

This is the card I made for my very best friend's birthday. The stamp is from Stampin' Up and the set is called Bring on the Cake. The card uses some awesome Graphic 45 paper, a recycled piece of cardboard from a McDonald's toy. It also uses the new Striped Butterfly 2-in-1 Edger Punch & the Butterfly Layering punch both from EK Success. Why yes, I am a tool freak! Letty should get this card tomorrow in the mail so hopefully she doesn't this posting before then. - Heidi

Heroes and Butterflies!

The above card uses paper that I purchased from Paper Source called Heroes & Villians. It was so boy, retro cool I had to get some! The round batman is a kid's ring - you know tha kind that come on top of a cupcake. I recycled that by cutting the prongs off and sticking it to my computer generated saying. I love this card. Too bad I don't have anymore batman cupcake rings!

The card below uses DCWV paper from the Mariposa stack. It also uses a stamp from PTI and the paper doily die from stampin up. I spritzed the doily with smooch and fed some ribbon through it. Not bad! - Heidi

Summer Smooches Wall Art

I am not a big stencil fan, but after seeing the Summer Smooches decor stencil from Stampin' Up I had to give it a try! My husband repainted the living room and I used the very paint that he used. It matches my walls perfectly. This is an 11 X 14 canvas and it was easy to do. This stencil is only going to be available in the month of April, so get one while you can! - Heidi

Lorax card

Not the best picture I have ever taken, sorry. This is the front of the kids menu at IHOP. I cut it out and made it into a card. The colors are Tempting Turquoise & Pumpkin Pie. Another fun color combo and a way to recycle! - Heidi
