Immortal Love & Twilight inspired cards

I must have had my head in the sand because I didn't know that DCWV was coming out with a new stack called "Immortal Love." It is based on the vampire trend and is not an official Twilight product, but it certainly could be. I bought mine on Sunday at Joann's and they are already out of the 4 1/2 X 6 1/2 mat stack two days later! I didn't buy the big 12 X 12 stack or matching album because I am not doing any scrapbooking with it - just cards.

**All cards features a piece of paper from the mat stack and are 5 X 7 in size**

The blue rose card has glitter (sparkle) already on the paper. The piece is matted with Baja Breeze from Stampin' Up and Smokey Shadow from Papertrey Ink. The saying is from Occassional Quotes by Stampin' Up. The envelope has the rose from Fifth Avenue Floral and the swirls from Baroque Motifs stamped on it. I had some fuzzy velvet ribbon that matched nicely, but the new Baja Breeze seam binding would've looked just as nice (if I had any at this time!).

This card has a triple row of bling that was in the ribbon aisle at Joann's. It is supposed to be ironed onto whatever you are sewing, but I glued it onto my card. I guess it could be a belt or hat embellishment and is sold by the yard at JoAnn's. I used Real Red as the card base, but now I am thinking that Poppy Parade would've been better as it is more red-orange in color. The LOVE is a die from Cuttlebug. The chipboard rose is in the Immortal Love chipboard box with all kinds of cool letters and objects. I made my own black leaves and blinged out the scalloped circle behind the rose. There is a matching envelope (there is also an Immortal Love cardstock stack) made from matching cardtsock and stamped with the rose from Fifth Avenue Floral.

Last, but certainly not least, we have a Team Jacob card. Me, I am Team Edward all the way, but I am also a creative fool! The base of this card is Bravo Burgundy and Crumb Cake. The piece of paper is killer and my picture doesn't really do it justice. I stenciled in the Team Jacob and punched it out and doodled in a border. Neat, clean and nice. I was trying to think of a different way to make this card a stunner, but I am at a loss right now.

Manly Cricut cards

I have been playing with my Cricut Expression machine again! I also love the Cricut Lite Wildlife cartridge that I got from Wal-Mart! This one is an eagle cut from Early Espresso and Soft Suede. Then I layered him onto Marina Mist, Cajun Craze and Early Espresso for the base. The color combination is thanks to my Color Coach from Stampin' Up - I love that thing! I sponged in some clouds with Whisper White craft ink and hit the corners with the art deco corner chompers. The sentiment is from the Butterfly Dreams set from Papertrey Ink.

This happy fella is also from the Wildlife cartridge. He is cut out of shimmery paper that I believe is a stack from Wausau papers. I used a white gel pen and black Sharpies to give him some details. The sentiment is from the set On Your Birthday from Stampin' Up. The card base and ink color is a retired Stampin' Up color called Handsome Hunter.

Gobble Gobble. I am far too anal to not draw in details on my Cricut cut outs. Sorry about the picture! This bird is cut from Creamy Caramel and Chocolate Chip. The paper is a DCWV stack for Fall. I used a houndstooth embossing folder on Chocolate Chip cardstock for the upper left panel. The cardstock base is Peach Parfait from Stampin' Up. Inside it says Happy Thanksgiving, but of course. Wintery Birthday Card

Happy after-Christmas to you all. I woman at Ernesto's job wants a birthday card for her daughter who's birthday is on January 4th. All I know is that she is 23, likes pink and winter sports. I am hoping that this vintage-type card will fit the bill. Colors are Whisper White, Bashful Blue and Pink Pirouette. Stamp sets used are well-scripted, winter post, lovely as a tree and northern hearts. I had to sketch the pond line in by hand with a Basic Grey marker. All letter and outline stamping is done in Basic Grey to give it a softer look. The skaters are fussy cut out and popped up on dimensionals. I see now that my nesties are crooked on the card, but I glued it so there is no going back. It is a hand-made card after all! Thanks for looking and have a wonderful night! -Heidi

Hot Wheels & geese

The above card was made using my Cricut Expression. That machine has me scrapbooking again and I was afraid it would kill my will to make cards. Well that's not true! These geese are on a Cricut Lite cartridge called Wildlife that is only available at Wal-Mart, I believe. I was going for a really cool card, but this one is so-so. If I had sponged it a bit then it would have been awesome! The color combo of Early Espresso with Marina Mist and Tangerine Tango is thanks to the Stampin' Up color coach. I do like that book A LOT! The geese are Sahara Sand and Early Espresso. The sun is So Saffron and the extra torn sky is Pumpkin Pie. The land is Close to Cocoa with a touch of Chocolate Chip marker along the water's edge. All-in all not a bad card.

My sons' friend has a birthday tomorrow. His invitation was this Hot Wheels car on the front. I love to recycle a card and see what I can do with it. I fussy cut around the car and cut "Happy Birthday" with my Stamping Solutions Cricut cartridge. The Tempting Turquoise background is embossed with the big 5 X 7 Cuttlebug embossing folder with gears on it called "clockworks." I hope he likes it - we shall see tomorrow. It's still raining & it's late

My friend Mari came over and we stamped some ornaments. The adult/crafty conversation must have sparked my creative juices because here's another card. I am loving this chipboard from Archiver's, but I bought it so long ago I am betting that it is no longer available. The cardstock is Basic Grey. Pretty in Pink and Whisper White. Pretty in Pink Taffeta from Stampin' Up along with various punches finish off the card. The words are printed on the computer and punched out. The stamp is from artistic Etchings. - Heidi

Valentine's CASE

Good evening from beautiful and rainy Wisconsin! This card is a CASE from Papercrafts magazine, but of course I changed it up a bit. I didn't use any fancy ribbon, as a matter of fact I used an old scrap just to be rid of it! Next time I'll use Pretty in Pink from Stampin' Up. On the Papercrafts card they used a sheer ribbon of which I had none. The chipboard is from Making Memories and is called "jigsaw love." I picked it up at Archiver's a LONG time ago, so I don't know if you can still get it. Cardstock is Basic Grey from Stampin' Up and whisper white. The brad is a Blushing Bride shimmer brad, also from Stampin' Up. The "love you" is a die from Cuttlebug that comes with an embossing folder called Love Language combo pack. In Papercrafts they stamped I love you, but I didn't feel like doing that with an alphabet so I used the die instead. This is a 5 X 7 card - I just love making the BIG ONES! Now I need to make an envelope! Hmm...I believe I have just the right paper. Good night and have a safe tomorrow! - Heidi

Another Cricut card and GASP a scrapbook page.

Whew it's been a long time since I did any scrapbooking! The page is of my son's 4K pictures this year. While talking to my friend Beth she said something about stars and it clicked that I could use stars on this page! I couldn't use flowers or anything girly (I have a ton of that stuff!) because it is a boy's page. The colors are Chocolate Chip, Baja Breeze and Very Vanilla to go nicely with the pictures. Simple and clean.

The gingerbread man is another card from Beth's house that we did on her Cricut. He's cut out of the front so I put some paper behind him and then offset a frame around him in the now extinct Candy Cane DSP from Stampin' Up. Have a great night - Heidi
