Build a Blossom during a blizzard!

There is a blizzard outside so what else is there to do inside (homework!) except stamp! The above card is my second attempt using the blossom petals punch and the build a blossom set from Stampin' Up. The colors are Concord Crush with Vegas Gold shimmer paint. The leaves are Pear Pizzazz along with the seam binding. The sentiment is from the Something to Celebrate hostess set in the Mini Occasions catalog. The background is Daffodil Delight DSP from the big stack for the color families. This is a 5 X 7 card otherwise I see now that I should've embossed that piece of paper with the square lattice folder. The glimmer brads are in Concord Crush, gold and Pear Pizzazz. The tag is from Spellbinders. The button is Daffodil Delight also from Stampin' Up. Maybe it is too big - what do you think?

I had this idea in my head, but it didn't come out like I envisioned. First of all the colors don't work, maybe?! The petals are stamped in Real Red on Pumpkin Pie cardstock. The leaves are stamped in Old Olive on Pear Pizzazz. I consulted the color coach and was directed to Pacific Point, but I chose Tempting Turquoise instead. The card is 4 X 6, but by embossing half and then flipping it I was able to "stretch" the framed tulips embossing folder to fit my larger size card. It wasn't enough so I highlighted the embossing with a metallic rub. Then I stamped with Vegas Gold shimmer paint the sentiment from Well Scripted. It'll do even though I am not too happy with it. Cricut cards

Here is a few of the cards I have made lately with my Cricut Expression. I took a class at Hobby Lobby and learned a lot. I could've read the manual, but that is boring and I am more of a hands on person. The above card is a 5 1/2" X 5 1/2" square card. It uses all Stampin' Up supplies except for the stamp and peach flesh are from Papertrey Ink. The stamp is signature Greetings and the flesh of the peach is melon berry cardstock. Stampin' Up supplies are chocolate chip, peach parfait, daffodil delight cardstock and paper. The ribbon is peach parfait also. The bling is Hero Arts. the peach is off of the Preserves cartridge.

These happy birds are from the home decor cartridge. The stamp is well scripted by Stampin' Up. Marina Mist, Bashful Blue and Pacific Point are the cardstocks I used for this card. I really do love these birds. Mom's tail got a few dew drops and I colored in the eyes. Have a great day - Heidi

Wintery Birthday Card

Happy after-Christmas to you all. I woman at Ernesto's job wants a birthday card for her daughter who's birthday is on January 4th. All I know is that she is 23, likes pink and winter sports. I am hoping that this vintage-type card will fit the bill. Colors are Whisper White, Bashful Blue and Pink Pirouette. Stamp sets used are well-scripted, winter post, lovely as a tree and northern hearts. I had to sketch the pond line in by hand with a Basic Grey marker. All letter and outline stamping is done in Basic Grey to give it a softer look. The skaters are fussy cut out and popped up on dimensionals. I see now that my nesties are crooked on the card, but I glued it so there is no going back. It is a hand-made card after all! Thanks for looking and have a wonderful night! -Heidi
